A statistic often banded about in internet marketing is that anywhere between 95% and 99% of affiliate marketers fail to turn any kind of significant profit. Pick a topic - In internet marketing speak this is called a niche. It is better to pick a niche which you have some knowledge or interest in, but you must also balance this by asking 'Is this a niche in which people spend money?' If people don't spend money in the niche then you're wasting your time!
Identify the keywords you are targeting. Keywords are the words that people type into search engines when they are searching for something on the internet. Choose a keyword rich title for your website, or blog, and use the other keywords, or keyword phrases, as titles for your blog posts, or articles.
Start a blog at either Blogger, or Wordpress - these are free and can be used for affiliate and internet marketing without any problems. You will now need to do the hard bit - create your content. This is where most people fail - your content needs to be of the highest quality. If you do not provide quality you will find that people do not stay for very long on your site and they certainly will not return. When you write your content make sure you use the keyword phrase in the title and in the first and last paragraphs. Post once a day for a month - this means that you will need at least 15 keyword phrases - you can write two posts on each phrase as long as you change the title and use different content.
Monetize - add Google AdSense ads and some affiliate programs from Clickbank, or Commission Junction and place them on the relevant posts and sidebar.
Get traffic - You will need to promote your site by creating videos and posting them to Youtube and other video-sharing sites, write articles for EzineArticles.com, as well as leaving high-quality, relevant comments on other blogs in your niche.
