Many folks have asked just that question. Most times this question comes from career cubicle jockeys as they dream about sitting on beaches with their laptops instead of cold offices. These people just cannot believe that it can even be possible. If it were possible, then they have been wasting their lives fighting traffic and driving to work, listening to overbearing bosses and dealing with incompetent colleagues. Then there are other people who ask this question. These people are those that have tried this model and failed so they don't believe it to be possible at all. I will discuss both these personality types in this article.
The skepticism of the first group of people is completely understandable. Of course, they are involved in the traditional ways of bringing home to bacon. Whether they are white or blue collar workers, they agree that making money requires doing work. A lot of them believe that work is not fun. It involves fighting traffic and going to a nine to five job. They are partly right! There is no such thing as a get rich quick scheme. You cannot make money without investing your own money, time or effort.
They are also partly wrong. This is because they associate Online Marketing with another get rich quick scheme. Online Marketing is not a get rich quick scheme. It is a real business that requires time, effort and innovative thinking. It is certainly possible to make money online if you treat it like a real business. It requires a lot of careful study and investment of time and money. If you do it correctly, you can make it work and make a nice income for your efforts.
This brings us to the second group. These guys thought that making money online was a get rich quick scheme and they thought it was entirely possible. So they put in a little effort and when they got no reward, they became cynical all of a sudden. What they did not realize is that it requires years to learn how to make money online. It is a real business!
So how does a newcomer generally enter the business? Well, they first learn about how easy it is to make money online and they join one of the many free blog hosting websites. They post some articles online and join AdSense or ClickBank and then sit back and expect the money to start flowing in. What they don't realize is if it were that easy then no one would ever drive to work anymore. It is not easy at all. They fail to comprehend the first rule of making money online - Testing!
Testing is easily overlooked by lazy marketers because it takes time which doesn't fit well into their Get Rich Quick dream. Why is testing important? Well, it's because there is no real accurate traffic data available online. The traffic data from Google is less than trustworthy and so you must Test each Keyword to see which is worth your time.
So, can you make money online? I believe you can because there are real people who do it every day. So why can't you be one of them? There are websites that only accept people who make a few thousand dollars a month as affiliates. That means that these people exist and you can be one of them.
